Lime Wash

Lime wash is pure slaked lime in water.
It produces a unique surface glow due the to refraction of calcite crystals.

Lime wash should be applied to porous surfaces only.
The surface should be dampened down first with water, lightly sprayed on to the
surface. Don't let the surface dry out too much before lime washing, but at
the same time, soaking the surface is also inappropiate.
Then, after stirring the lime wash, it should be applied with the use of a masonary brush.

The colour will not look like the colour you are expecting, but this
is normal, as it will dry and lighten.

Lime wash should be applied with about 3-4 coats, depending on the type of surface and finish. Each coat should be left to dry, and then dampened again, prior to the next coat being applied.
