We have large areas of damp in all the rooms of our thatched property it is gypsum plaster painted with emulsion.
Can you advise how we can get rid of it please?

Firstly, I would check the the exterior render is in good condition and is not cement, then check for any obvious reasons, cracked render, leaking guttering, poor drainage, if these are not obvious, then the only way to get rid of it is to hack of the gypsum to at least dado rail height, re-plaster with lime and then paint with lime wash or Distemper.
